Disallowance Motion Against the Northern Basin Amendment

Goondiwindi Regional Council is disappointed the Senate has voted to disallow an amendment to the Basin Plan affecting the Northern Basin. The Murray Darling Basin Plan is a ground breaking piece of legislation, highly regarded around the world. This is a comprehensive and complex Plan to deliver a sustainable future for all communities across the Basin.

Inglewood Trail Ride Recognised

Goondiwindi Regional Council is pleased to award the Inglewood State School P&C Trail Ride funding under its new Tourism Events Grant. The trail ride is a family friendly event with peewee through to open ride categories. Part of the attraction of the Inglewood Trail Ride is the amazing facility, and the fact the event coincides with the Easter school holidays, 14-15 April 2018.

Mayor Calls for Realignment of Inland Rail

Goondiwindi Regional Council Mayor, Graeme Scheu, has called on Federal Transport and Infrastructure Minister, the Hon. Darren Chester, to explore the possibility of aligning Inland Rail track through the forestry around Inglewood in an effort to save the segregation of 41 landholdings in the region.

New Resource for Local Businesses Launched

One of the known challenges for local businesses in regional areas is attracting new employees to the region. We all know that Goondiwindi is a fantastic place to live and work, but convincing others who haven’t lived here that they will love it too is a little more challenging. A new e-brochure highlighting all that Goondiwindi has to offer has been created by Goondiwindi Regional Council, and is available for local businesses to use as part of their marketing to potential employees.
