Regional Skills Investment Strategy Project

Regional Skills Investment Strategy (RSIS) Project

The Goondiwindi Regional Skills Investment Strategy (RSIS) project is a two year initiative between Goondiwindi Regional Council and the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training. The aim of the project is to identify current and emerging jobs and to ensure there is a supply of skilled local people to meet that demand. It has a focus of three major industries of the region:

  • Transport and Logistics
  • Health and Community Care
  • Food Production

How the RSIS can help you:

The Goondiwindi RSIS Project can help you and your business with:

  • Finding and accessing funding and incentives for training
  • Developing specialised training programs specific to your industry or business needs
  • Sourcing and negotiating with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to get the best return on your training investment
  • Facilitating a collaboration across local businesses and industries to achieve like training objectives

The project is fully funded for two years and therefore there is no cost to access this assistance.

A reference group, made up of local employers and representatives from local and state governments, guides the Goondiwindi RSIS Project. They meet six times a year and discuss the findings of the project and develop locally-relevant solutions for any training challenges. They provide recommendations to the Queensland Government for different areas of focus and to customise training funding allocations. If you are interested in attending a reference group meeting, please get in contact with the Project Coordinator.
