RELINING OF SEWER MAINS

Sewer Main Relining Program in Goondiwindi and Inglewood

Goondiwindi Regional Council will commence the Sewer Main Relining Program on Monday 23rd July 2018. Works will commence in Inglewood for a period approximately 3 weeks then progress to Goondiwindi for a further 3 weeks.  

The relining program will be carried out by a contractor and they may need to require access to private backyards.  Those properties affected will be notified directly by the contractor.

Council would like to thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience during this period.

PEST CONTROL SPRAYING ON COUNCIL SEWER MANHOLES

Goondiwindi Regional Council will commence undertaking the Pest Control Spraying on their Sewer Manholes in Goondiwindi on Monday, 9 July 2018 then progress to Talwood, Yelarbon, Inglewood and Texas. The spraying will be carried out by a local contractor and is part of Council's annual pest control program.

Title

1. This notice may be cited as Goondiwindi Regional Council (Making of Local Law) Website Notice (No. 1) 2018.

 

Making of local law

2. Goondiwindi Regional Council (the “Council”) has, by resolution dated 27 June 2018, made Local Law No. 8 (Waste Management) 2018 (the “local law”).

 

Purpose and general effect

3. The purpose and general effect of the local law is to protect the public health, safety and amenity related to waste management by—

(a) regulating the storage, servicing and removal of waste; and

(b) regulating the disposal of waste at waste facilities; and

(c) ensuring that an act or omission does not result in—

(i)            harm to human health or safety or personal injury; or

(ii)           property damage or loss of amenity; or

 

Anti-competitive provision

4. The local law contains anti-competitive provisions.

 

Inspection

5. Copies of the local law may be—

(a) inspected and purchased at Council’s public office and viewed by the public on the website of Council; and
(b) viewed by the public on the website of the Department of Local Government.

WILD DOG/FOX BAITING PROGRAM

GOONDIWINDI REGIONAL COUNCIL

Wild Dog/Fox Baiting Program

18th-19th July 2018

Council will be offering landholders the opportunity to participate in the Co- ordinated Wild Dog/Fox Baiting program on Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th July 2018.

Please contact Councils Natural Resource Management Officer, Bec Morrissy on 0427 638 835 or rmorrissy@grc.qld.gov.au to show your interest and help aid in planning of bait numbers and meeting places and times.

RSVP: Friday 29th June with number of baits you require.

THINGS TO DO ON BAITING DAY

  • Bring your RATES NOTICE
  • Give all adjoining neighbours 3 DAYS NOTICE PRIOR TO BAITING THIS MUST NOW BE RECORDED, SO EITHER BY LETTER, EMAIL OR TEXT MESSAGE.
  • Meat will be supplied by Council – maximum 100 baits free of charge per Property.
  • Bring leak-proof container
