Goondiwindi State High School presents The Sound of Music Musical« Back
Goondiwindi State High School is excited to announce that tickets are now on sale at the office for the production of the wonderful musical, The Sound of Music on next term, May 23rd and 24th. The Sound of Music is a tuneful, heart-warming story based on the real life story of the Von Trapp Family singers, one of the world's best-known concert groups in the era immediately preceding World War II. Maria is a tomboyish trainee nun at an Austrian abbey who becomes a governess in the home of Captain Von Trapp, a widowed naval captain with seven children. She brings a new love of life and music into the home. Max prepares the children for their singing debut at the Salzburg Festival but the Captain refuses to let his children sing in the concert. However, when a Nazi German official arrives and tells the Captain he must leave immediately to take his post in the German navy, the family must buy time. The roads are cut off by German police and the family have nothing but each other. The Sound of Music was an immediate and lasting hit with audiences and we know you’re going to love it too. The front four rows of seating will be reserved for family of cast members so be sure to let the office know if you are related to the talented cast for your front row seats. Being part of the school musical is a great experience and one our cast and crew will never forget and they are working hard to bring you a show you’ll always remember. Get a group together and book your tickets for what promises to be a fun night out for everybody.
