Waterway of the Goondiwindi Natural Heritage and Water Park Reopens

« Back

Goondiwindi Regional Council has today reopened the waterway in the Goondiwindi Natural Heritage and Water Park.

Council had previously made the decision to close the Water Park due to potential health risks of a blue-green algal bloom.

“Council has been taking regular water samples at the Water Park which are now below the recommended safe levels for recreational use”, said Goondiwindi Regional Council CEO Carl Manton.

“The Goondiwindi Natural Heritage and Water Park is a fantastic asset for our region that attracts visitors from far and wide. Keeping users safe and protecting our visitors is our priority, and Council will continue to monitor the water quality at the Water Park."
