Goondiwindi Regional Council is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from individuals who wish to apply for volunteer positions on the Goondiwindi Regional Arts Development committee.
This committee is an important collaboration between Council and Arts Queensland, who work together to provide funding for the RADF program, and to foster the growth of high-quality art within the Goondiwindi Region.
Councillor Phil O’Shea who holds the portfolio for Health, Aging, Arts and Culture said being part of the RADF committee is an excellent chance for individuals’ passionate about art and culture to support the development and enhancement of the local arts engagement.
“It’s an opportunity to actively contribute and enrich the lives of residents across the Goondiwindi Region through new and innovative art and culture opportunities.
“In the past, the RADF committee has been responsible for allocating funding to activities such as Texas and Talwood Festival of Small Hall performances, Inglewood Children’s Theatre, and local school musicals to name a few,” Cr O’Shea said.
Members of the RADF committee are responsible for assessing all local RADF applications and making recommendations on funding allocations. They play a key role in developing engagement with art and culture within the region. Generally, there are only two face-to-face meetings per year, and access to email is essential in the role. Committee members will be responsible for acquiring an understanding of the guidelines of the program and ensuring that both the eligibility criteria and funding guidelines are fully adhered to.
