Goondiwindi Regional Council is greatly subsidising the cost to individuals as part of its commitment to agricultural resilience in the region.

Expressions of interest (EOIs) are open NOW for the three-day program held in Goondiwindi over 29-31 August 2023. A minimum number of twenty EOIs will be required for the event to go ahead.

The Business Fundamentals course is aimed at agricultural businesses and workers and is suitable for all skill and confidence levels. It will guide participants towards a business that requires less time in the office yet has increased efficiency and profitability.

Mayor of the Goondiwindi Region the Honourable Cr Lawrence Springborg AM said Council was proud to partner with industry leaders RCS to bring this workshop to the Goondiwindi Region.

“This is an incredible opportunity to access leading industry training at a heavily reduced rate,” Cr Springborg said. “Council is committed to fostering local resilience and is very proud to heavily subsidise this workshop, making it more accessible to our local primary producers.

“The final rate will be determined by numbers but will be somewhere around a 50% discount off the original program price if we can fill all spaces.”

Numbers will be strictly limited for the workshop. Once Council has confirmed the minimum number of EOIs for the event to go ahead, the chance to purchase a ticket will be allocated to those who submitted an EOI on a first-in, best-dressed basis.

Key areas the workshop will cover include stock and crop flow, taxation and management accounting, cashflow analysis, economic analysis, going paperless, ‘one-touch’ mail handling, software options, record keeping, budgeting, BAS/PAYG/Super and more. Participants are encouraged to bring their own business information to work on during the program so they can complete the course ready for success.

“We all know that agriculture is the backbone of the Goondiwindi Region, and this is a fantastic opportunity for our local ag community to gain the necessary skills they need to improve their operation and prepare for the future,” Cr Springborg said. “Wherever you’re based in the Goondiwindi Region, whether in Talwood, Texas, Inglewood or Yelarbon, I strongly encourage you to look into this opportunity.”
