Toobeah hotel

Blink and you could miss the tiny town of Toobeah - pronounced ‘Two-beer’. It sits just 49 km west of Goondiwindi, past abundant cotton and grain fields, making it the perfect side trip.

The standout feature of the main street is the Toobeah Hotel Motel, which has a play area out the back for kids and ample accommodation on site. Like many businesses in our small towns, the pub wears many hats –
doubling as the town store, post office, coffee shop and café for all your needs.

It’s also the best spot to meet a local for a real taste of country hospitality.

Population: (approximately) 45

History:

The Bigambul People have a strong connection to the Toobeah area, with a number of significant traditional sites. Toobeah was once a busy rural town with a large enough population to support two hotels. The railway connected it with Brisbane, carting wool and passengers to and from the capital.
