New Heavy Vehicle Route Redirection Information - Inglewood

Published on 14 May 2025

Goondiwindi Regional Council would like to inform you of changes to heavy vehicle routes that are being established to enhance safety and the ability of heavy vehicles to negotiate Inglewood when heading to and from the south. This initiative has been carefully planned between Council and The Department of Transport and Main Roads to address the limited turning movements for heavy vehicles at various intersections along Albert Street.

Minor works to accommodate these changes have been undertaken over a period of time now, with the final step, being the implementation of signage, to commence in the coming weeks. These signs will direct heavy vehicles to and from the south onto these designated routes that can accommodate these vehicles and have been mapped out specifically to improve passage around Inglewood.

Benefits of this new route include:

  • Improved safety by redirecting a number of heavy vehicles to intersections that can accommodate them; and
  • Formalising routes that are currently being used in various degrees by these vehicles.

For further details regarding the specific route, please refer to the map below.

If you would like further information, please contact Council’s District Engineer, Mr Jeremy Frankel on 0497 779 277.
