Vulnerable Person Housing

To ensure that community housing is used by those in highest need, we apply an eligibility test according to the Queensland government Community Housing Rent Policy - Guideline.

Being eligible does not guarantee that you will be offered a home. People with more urgent needs and complex needs are offered housing assistance ahead of people with less complex needs.

Goondiwindi Regional Council is responsible for Long Term Community Housing Units in Inglewood and Texas. These units are residential accommodation for eligible older people and are managed by council, or for council by the Greenup Masonic Lodge (Texas).

Tenancy Management Plan

The purpose of the Goondiwindi Regional Council Tenancy Management Plan 2023-2027(PDF, 9MB) (Tenancy Plan) is to provide Council with an affordable housing management framework. The Tenancy Plan sets out the strategic context for providing independent living units to elderly and vulnerable tenants, along with the application criteria, assessment methodology and supporting information to manage and maintain these facilities.
