Goondiwindi hits the right note as Pub Choir launches national tour

The Pub Choir will be in Goondiwindi this October to kick-off on their National Tour.
Set to be held at the Goondiwindi Waggamba Community Cultural Centre, the event is sure to hit a high note, as Pub Choir is famously known for transforming any group into a singing sensation.
Councillor Phil O’Shea, who holds Council’s Arts and Culture portfolio, said that whether you’re a seasoned singer or a crooning novice, everyone is encouraged to join in on the musical fun.
“Goondiwindi Regional Council is always pleased to support the arts and culture in the region. Goondiwindi hosted a Pub Choir a number of years ago and it was a huge success, and following this success I expect tickets will sell out quick so make sure you get in early,” said Cr O’Shea.
Partnering with Goondiwindi Regional Council, Pub Choir will donate $5 from each ticket to the local Dolly Parton Imagination Library program.
“This is an incredible program that helps put books into the hands of children under five every month worldwide, which currently includes 393 children across the Goondiwindi Region.”
The program operates through a collaborative effort between the Council, Care Goondiwindi, United Way Australia, and other sponsors, with the Council contributing towards the program.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to fundraise for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program, a cause we can all agree is excelling at supporting children’s literacy,” Cr O’Shea said.
Attendees will learn to belt out a popular tune, accompanied by a three-part harmony, on Pub Choir's quest to prove that anyone can sing.
“We’d love to see the community come together for a fantastic night out. Not only will you be supporting early childhood literacy in our region, but we also have the Goondiwindi Junior Rugby Union committee running the bar as a fundraiser. This is a genuine community effort, and I thank the Pub Choir team for considering our region as part of their national tour,” said Cr O’Shea.
