Application notice – Amendment of Transitional Environmental Program

It is advised that Goondiwindi Regional Council has lodged an application for amendment of a transitional environmental program under the Environmental Protection Act 1994.

The application proposes that the program is to be extended to be carried out for longer than 5 years.

The application relates to the approved Transitional Environmental Program for the Texas Sewage Treatment Plant and seeks to extend the program timeframe to allow completion of the proposed effluent reuse scheme and associated infrastructure works aimed at reducing environmental harm and improving compliance outcomes.

It is advised that government departments, public authorities, local governments, landholders, industry, interested groups and persons and members of the public may make submissions about the application during the submission period. All submissions must be received on or before 27 May 2026. Submissions must be sent to the administering authority at:
