Goondiwindi Sporting Facilities Strategic Plan
Published on 09 March 2026
Goondiwindi Regional Council is commencing the development of a long-term Sporting Facilities Strategic Plan to guide investment, maintenance, and improvement of sporting infrastructure across Goondiwindi.
Council encourages feedback from local sporting clubs, volunteers, facility users, and residents, with every perspective helping to shape and strengthen the direction of the Sporting Facilities Strategic Plan.
Council has appointed ROSS Planning to develop the Strategy, drawing on their demonstrated experience with similar projects involving sports planning across Australia. The Strategy will focus on prioritising maintenance and upgrades that are evidence-based, financially responsible and sustainable.
Through this consultation, feedback with be gathered on:
- What is currently working well at our sporting facilities
- Existing facility needs, gaps or improvement ideas
- The suitability of current facilities for activities undertaken, and whether they will meet future demand
- Any access or equity challenges experienced by clubs or participants
The Strategic Plan will focus on the following key facilities:
- Goondiwindi Indoor Sports Centre (PCYC)
- Riddles Oval Complex
- Gilbert Sporting Ovals Complex
- Goondiwindi Town Pool and Tennis Courts Precinct
