Australian Citizenship

« Back

Council is the last link in the application process.

Once your application for citizenship has been approved from the Department of Home Affairs, arrangements will be made for you to attend a citizenship ceremony where you will make the Pledge. Making the Pledge is the final legal requirement in becoming an Australian citizen. The Mayor of Goondiwindi Regional Council has been delegated the authority to confer your citizenship.

Private citizenship ceremonies are available by arrangement through the Mayor's Office. Citizenship application forms are available from post offices. For more information on Australian Citizenship call the Citizenship Information Line on 131 881.
