Goondiwindi Region residents: where to get your COVID-19 vaccine this week

There are multiple ways Goondiwindi Region residents can access the COVID-19 vaccine this week and in the coming month:

  • Goondiwindi Hospital – Pfizer Super Clinic

Today is the final day of the Darling Downs Health Pfizer Super Clinic at the Goondiwindi Hospital. If you had your first dose during the first round of the clinic, please make sure you get your second dose TODAY if you haven't done so already.

The clinic is also accepting walk-in appointments (for first or second doses) TODAY for eligible people:

  • Any adult aged 40-59 years
  • All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 16-59 years
  • People aged 16 and over with a specified underlying medical   condition
  • Pregnant women
  • NDIS participants, their carers and support workers (aged 16 and over)
  • Any worker in the following industries, aged 16 and over:
  • Aged care and disability care workers
  • Healthcare workers
  • Quarantine, airport and border workers
  • Critical and high risk workers e.g. defence, police, fire, emergency services and meat processing.
  • Household contacts of quarantine workers, border workers and healthcare workers who are at a higher risk of having contact with COVID-positive patients, regardless of age

PLEASE NOTE that this is the final round of the Goondiwindi Super Clinic, so you will need to organise to have your second Pfizer dose elsewhere – see below.

 

  • Goondiwindi Medical Centre
    • Walk in appointments available at the Goondiwindi Medical Centre for anyone aged 60+ for the AstraZeneca vaccine clinic, 9 am – 11 am daily.
    • Appointments are available for Pfizer vaccine clinics for people aged 40-59.
    • Appointments are also available for the Pfizer vaccine for eligible people aged 16-39.

 

  • Inglewood Medical Centre

The Inglewood Medical Centre Inglewood Medical Centre is holding a Pfizer vaccine clinic TOMORROW, Friday 6 August, for anyone between the ages of 16-60. Please contact the Medical Centre directly to book in.

 

  • Texas Family Medical Centre
    • AstraZeneca clinics fortnightly on Fridays for ages 60+ - next clinic is Friday, 20 August.
    • The Pfizer vaccine is coming soon – please contact the Health Centre directly for more information.

 

  • Local Pharmacies

Several pharmacies across the region are now offering the AstraZeneca vaccine (e.g.  Allens Pharmacy and Lucy Walker Pharmacy TerryWhite Chemmart in Goondiwindi). Please contact your local pharmacy to discuss.
