  • Council is proud to support the Greenup Events Group to deliver their ‘Meet, Move, Munch, and Make’ program as part of the Council's ongoing efforts to enhance the physical and mental well-being of the community
  • The event is scheduled for the 13th and 14th of April at Greenup Meeting Place, offering locals the opportunity to engage in morning yoga, connect over lunch, and participate in creative workshops.

Goondiwindi Regional Council proudly announces its collaboration with Greenup Events Group in launching the mental health initiative, ‘Meet, Move, Munch, and Make.'  Council’s funding will assist in subsidising this initiative that encourages local participants to spend the day focusing on well-being and community connectedness.

Sessions will take place at Greenup Meeting Place, starting with nature walks or gentle yoga, followed by a nutritious lunch. The afternoons will feature workshops by local artists Kirsty Richardson from "Kreate it" and Jobella Bennett from "Wedgetail Winds Studio", focussing on creativity, laughter and mindfulness.

‘Meet, Move, Munch, and Make’ aims to provide a holistic approach to well-being and aligns with Council’s broader goal of creating a healthier and more vibrant community.

Participants will have the choice of painting designs on chopping boards or creating intricate wire sculptures – providing participants with not only newfound skills but also a unique piece of art to take home.

The funding has become available as a result of the Inglewood township being inundated by flood waters in November 2021. Goondiwindi Regional Council remains committed to supporting local mental health initiatives and this collaboration with Greenup Events Group reflects a shared vision for the betterment and preparedness of the region.

Support for this event complements an existing suite of initiatives, including the upcoming ‘Community Wellbeing’ workshops with Chantal Corish, the Rural Psychologist and the ‘Connected Communities’ grant program that saw twenty-one community groups run mental health related activities across the entire region.

This initiative is an opportunity for the community to collectively prioritise mental and physical well-being and is open to all age groups, with no prior experience necessary.
